Hydrostructures’s Dye Testing Services
Identifying Illicit Sources of Water Ingress in Pipe Networks
Often used in conjunction with smoke testing, dye testing involves mixing a safe, odorless, and biodegradable dye in water and pumping it into a piping network. This dye highlights the path that stormwater takes during extreme rain events, helping to identify defects in the piping network and showing how stormwater might enter the sanitary sewer network. The goal is to minimize the stormwater ingress into the sewer system to maximize the capacity of sewage treatment facilities and avoid sewage overflows.
