SCOPE OF WORK
Hydrostructures was retained to oversee the evaluation and rehabilitation of two basins within the Utilities’ sewer collection system. The Argonne Boulevard and Nissan Park basins are primarily single-family residential areas constructed in the 1950’s and 1960’s. The initial stage of the project included evaluating all of the existing collection system using a combination of manhole inspections, smoke testing and internal television inspection. A final report was prepared including priority ratings, rehabilitation and repair recommendations and construction cost estimates.
Hydrostructures was then retained to prepare plans, specifications and contract documents for the rehabilitation and repair measures identified in the report. Permit requirements included a NCDOT encroachment agreement and a soil and erosion control permit. The initial project included cured-in-place rehabilitation of approximately 39,500 linear feet of 8-inch through 12-inch gravity mains, pipe bursting of 11,300 linear feet of 6-inch gravity mains to 8-inch and rehabilitation of 225 existing manholes using a spray-applied cementitious mortar. Two major contract additions were added to the project including a total of 11,900 linear feet of 8-inch through 12-inch cured-in-place pipe lining, pipe bursting of 25,400 linear feet of 6-inch gravity mains to 8-inch and rehabilitation of 210 manholes using a spray-applied cementitious mortar.
BENEFITS FOR THE CLIENT
Hydrostructures submitted digital as-builts that were successfully incorporated into GIS and Hansen.
